Galleries: Psurrealistic Psalms
UPDATE (June 2023): All 150 Psurrealistic Psalms are now done!
INSPIRATION BEHIND THIS PROJECT: When I was living in Israel in 1977, I did a surrealistic drawing based on Psalm 1. That became the genesis for a series of several other pencil drawings based on various Psalms. I called them "psurrealistic psalms." In 2012, while staying in Jerusalem, I decided to paint all 150 Psalms of the Bible, and I did several preliminary sketches there. In 2017 I bought 150 canvases and began painting the 150 Psalms. The paintings in this ongoing project will be posted here as they are completed, however they will not be available for purchase until after all 150 are completed. However, prints on stretched canvas are available for $150 plus shipping. These are high-quality satin giclee prints stretched on 18 inch by 14 inch wood stretcher bars (the same size as the original paintings), stapled on back, wired and ready to hang. They are printed right here in Peoria, so I can personally check each one for quality. If you live outside the U.S., I can send you the canvas rolled up in a mailing tube, without the wood stretcher bars, to lessen the high cost of shipping, and you can have someone in your country staple it to stretcher bars.
